The foundation of the Roman brand was built in 1980 by Turgut Toplus. Mr. Toplusoy, who was previously engaged in business in the construction sector, entered the textile sector when a friend encouraged him to do so and opened his first store on Nisantasi Rumeli Street called "Roman". Mr. Toplusoy soon got acquainted with this sector and firstly offered his customers products of different brands in his store.

Mr. Toplusoy, who saw the future in the textile sector, rented an atelier in which he could create his own works at the Sisli Osmanbey Textile Center of that time. At that time, brand collections were created by creating product patterns selected from fashion magazines. Mr. Toplusoy has identified the exact requirements of the clients and has achieved serious success in a short period of time with his own suits.
